The ancient “Rock & Paddle” Technique is a Pre-Columbian ceramic technique involving a detailed seven-day process. From a young age, Polo was taught to mold and sculpt clay using his hands and feet, accompanied by ovoid rocks and wooden paddles, which remain essential tools in his work today. His final pieces are then decorated with organic Engobe, made from crushed volcanic rock, which adds a distinct and beautiful finish to each creation. Join us as we explore Polo Ramirez’s dedication to preserving this unique tradition through a series of seven videos that highlight every step of his process. This is more than just ceramics; it’s a beautiful homage to the land, the ancestors, and the timeless art of Peru. (videos with english subtitles coming soon!)
